- Centre of Excellence in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology – Set up at Mahatma Gandhi University, this ₹62 crore initiative will support research in advanced nanotechnology applications in medicine, electronics, and materials science.
- Thanu Padmanabhan Centre of Excellence in Astronomy and Astrophysics – Proposed at Kerala University, this center will focus on space research, astrophysics, and cosmic studies.
