Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, in a statement, highlighted that the Congress government has spent ₹55,256 crore on farmer welfare, including:

- Investment support
- Crop bonuses

He also criticized the previous administration, stating that between 2014 and 2018, farmers incurred an additional interest burden of ₹2,630 crore due to the delayed implementation of loan waivers.
